Terms for Sideline: Spons
Version 2026-10-19. The Norwegian version applies if the two differ.
1. The service
Sideline: Spons ("Spons") lets family and friends support a sports team with a voluntary amount per goal, per win and for a clean sheet. The service is provided by Braastad Software og App Utvikling, a Norwegian sole proprietorship (enkeltpersonforetak), org. no. 938 698 503, Brokvollveien 12, 3032 Drammen, Norway ("we"). Sideline is the name we use for our services. Contact: support@sideline.no.
Spons calculates what each participant has pledged, shows results and sends reminders. Spons does not handle any money between participants and teams. Participants pay the team directly, for example with Vipps or a bank transfer, and the team records what has been paid.
2. Who can use Spons
You must be 16 or older to create an account and take part in a fundraiser. To create or run a fundraiser, and to buy a subscription, you must be 18 or older. Spons is made for adults: parents, grandparents, friends, coaches and team leads. No information about children may be entered in Spons, apart from team names and match results.
3. Your account
You are responsible for giving correct information and for keeping your password and sign-in codes to yourself. You can delete your account at any time under "Account"; we then delete your personal data as described in the privacy policy.
Deleting your account does not end a subscription. If you pay for a subscription, you must cancel it (or let another administrator take it over) before you can delete your account, so nobody is charged without access.
4. Pledges are voluntary
A pledge in Spons is a voluntary promise in a team fundraiser, not a debt. The team has no legal claim to be paid a pledge, and nobody can collect a pledge through Spons. "Calculated so far" shows what your pledge has come to after the matches played. You can change, pause or stop your pledge at any time; changes apply from the next match.
5. Terms for organisers (coaches and team leads)
If you create or run a team fundraiser ("organiser"), you confirm that you are 18 or older, and you also agree to this:
- The fundraiser belongs to the team. The team decides its purpose, receives the money and is responsible for how it is used.
- You make sure the fundraiser follows the rules where the team is based, such as the club's and federation's rules, rules on fundraising, and any tax and accounting rules.
- You only record match results, team names and payments actually received. You do not enter information about children.
- You give participants correct information about the team, the purpose and how to pay.
- Payment links and account numbers you enter go to the team or club, not to you privately, unless the team has decided so.
- You use information about participants only to run the fundraiser.
Closing a fundraiser. We may close a fundraiser that is used in breach of these terms or the law. Unless the breach is serious, we notify the organiser first and give a reasonable deadline to put it right. If we close a fundraiser for reasons that are not the organiser's fault, we refund paid time that has not been used, in proportion.
6. Subscription
Trial. A team fundraiser is free during a trial that starts when the fundraiser is published. The trial lasts until 30 days have passed and at least three matches have results, whichever comes later, so it never ends before the team has three matches with results. After that a subscription is needed to take in new participants and record new results. Everything already recorded is kept.
- Price: Prices are listed at spons.sideline.no/pris, and the total price and billing interval are shown right before you order. The business is not registered for VAT in Norway, so no VAT is charged.
- Payment: The subscription is bought online and paid by card through Stripe. We store no card details. You receive an order confirmation by email with the agreement details and information about the right of withdrawal.
- Renewal: The subscription renews automatically every month or year until cancelled. While it runs, we remind you by email at least every six months that it is running and how to cancel it.
- Cancelling: You can cancel at any time under "Manage subscription". It then runs until the end of the period you have paid for. Beyond the right of withdrawal below, we do not refund a started period unless the law gives you that right.
- Price changes: Price changes are announced at least 30 days before they take effect and apply from the next renewal at the earliest, never to a period already paid. Consumers keep the right to cancel free of charge from the time a price increase takes effect where the Norwegian Digital Services Act (digitalytelsesloven) § 28 gives that right.
- Limits: Each plan covers a number of teams, participants and administrators. If the group grows, new participants can join up to 10% over the limit; after that the plan must be upgraded. Nobody who has already joined is removed.
Right of withdrawal. As a consumer you have 14 days' right of withdrawal from when the agreement is made. If you want delivery to start before the withdrawal period ends, you must expressly ask for it; you do this by ticking the box before you go to payment. The right of withdrawal is only lost when the conditions in the Norwegian Cancellation Act (angrerettloven) for a fully performed service are met. If you withdraw after delivery has started at your express request, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the part of the service lawfully delivered. We refund the rest no later than 14 days after we receive your notice, using the same means of payment you used.
You withdraw by sending a clear message to support@sideline.no within the deadline, for example with the form below. It is enough that the message is sent before the deadline.
> Withdrawal form > To: Braastad Software og App Utvikling, Brokvollveien 12, 3032 Drammen, Norway, support@sideline.no > I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the agreement for a Sideline: Spons subscription for the team: [team name]. > Ordered on: [date] · Name: [name] · Email used for the purchase: [email] · Date: [date]
7. Use of the service
Do not misuse Spons, for example by posting unlawful or offensive content, pretending to be someone else, trying to access other people's data or putting abnormal load on the service.
8. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep Spons available and its calculations correct, but cannot guarantee that it is always free of errors. We are not party to the arrangement between teams and participants, and we are not responsible for payments between them, for how the team uses the money, or for losses caused by incorrect information entered by teams or participants, such as a wrong match result. Our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the last 12 months.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that follow from mandatory law. This includes a consumer's rights when the digital service is defective under the Digital Services Act, such as correction, a price reduction, termination and compensation. The limitation of liability applies only to the extent it may lawfully be agreed.
9. Changes
We may change the service and these terms when there is good reason, for example new features, changes in the law or security. Changes are announced in the service or by email before they take effect. We explain significant changes and announce them at least 30 days in advance. If we change the service so that it becomes significantly worse for you, you keep the rights the law gives you, including the right to terminate the agreement. Organisers are asked to accept new organiser terms; if you don't accept them, you can cancel the subscription free of charge from when the change takes effect.
10. Governing law
Norwegian law applies. Disputes are to be settled amicably where possible. Consumers may complain to the Norwegian Consumer Authority and the Consumer Disputes Commission. Otherwise Buskerud District Court (Buskerud tingrett) is the agreed venue.
